Veg Volunteering
Veg Workshare Volunteering
The Tomnaha veg team offers a small number of workshares each season, where people can commit to a regular weekly volunteering slot in exchange for a veg box.
This season our volunteer day is Thursday 10-4.
At the moment we are unable to offer drop-in volunteering during the week. However, we are planning a few family-friendly volunteering days at weekends throughout the season. Please sign up to our newsletter and keep an eye on the events page for more details.
A Great Way To Learn
Whether you are a keen home gardener, an aspiring commercial grower or just starting out, there’s loads to learn from volunteering with us.
A typical Thursday will focus on harvest for our veg shares, but there will be chance to learn about all aspects of production, such as sowing, planting out and weeding.
A typical day involves us being on our feet a lot; crouching and bending to harvest and working predominantly outdoors.
A Farm Community
We do our best to create a welcoming community here and take care of the whole team, especially volunteers.
There’s always lots to do, but we always make time for sociable tea breaks and shared lunches. Lunch is provided if you volunteer for the whole day.
Flower Volunteering
Learn and Harvest with the Seasons
The flower team also welcome regular, local vounteers on Tuesdays from 10am. Join us to find what we grow and how to harvest stems for floristry. We have years of gardening and floristry expertise in the team, so it’s a great way to learn.
