An increasing interest in food provenance and seasonal eating, has led to many people seeking similar standards for their cut flowers. Using our sustainably-grown Scottish flowers will stand your floristry apart from other conventional florists and put you at the forefront of the sustainable floristry revolution.
Locally-grown Scottish flowers are also different to their mass grown counterparts in having fragrance, softness and vibrancy that has been lost from flowers that are chemically treated and held in cold storage for extended periods. Our flowers are pollinated by bees and butterflies playing a role in their local ecosystem, and have not travelled far to reach their final destination. They are fresh, generally picked the day before their sale and smell great because they’re scent hasn’t been bred out in replace of other traits.
We are part of an expanding network of small artisan flower growers from around the country specialising in growing a wide range of traditional and unusual cut flowers. This allows Scottish florists and the general public access to locally grown cut flowers with a much reduced carbon footprint. Our flowers vary throughout the year in tune with the seasons, from March to November, peaking in July and August when our farm is bursting with flowers, butterflies and bees.
